Research Fellow (JRF) to work on an industry-sponsored research project entitled “Design and Development of 100 Ah Prismatic Al-ion cells”.

Essential Qualifications

B. Tech/B.E. and M. Tech/M. E in Chemical Engineering/Metallurgy/Materials
Science/Mechanical Engineering/Nanotechnology/Energy Engineering/allied
disciplines. (GATE score is not mandatory) Or B. Tech/B. E. in Chemical Engineering/Metallurgy/Materials science/Mechanical Engineering/Energy Engineering/allied disciplines with a valid GATE score and at least a CGPA of 8.0/10 or 75% of marks or M.Sc. chemistry and allied disciplines with CSIR NET/UGC/GATE

Students graduating by June 2023 can also apply.

Nature of work Fabrication of electrode and electrochemical analysis.

Duration of the project 3 Years

Consolidated salary Rs. 40,000/- pm. +

Upon completion of two years with satisfactory performance, the candidate will
be paid Rs. 2.5 lakhs additionally as a balloon payment.

Other Benefits The selected candidate is eligible to register for a Ph.D. degree at NIT, Warangal.

  1. What inspired you to apply for this position, and how do you meet the essential qualifications? Answer: I am interested in pursuing a career in the field of chemical engineering, specifically in the development of energy storage systems. I have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering and have experience working on similar projects. Therefore, I believe I meet the essential qualifications required for the position.
  2. Can you explain your experience in fabricating electrodes and performing electrochemical analysis? Answer: During my Master’s program, I worked on a research project that involved the fabrication of lithium-ion battery electrodes and conducting various electrochemical analyses, such as cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. I am familiar with the equipment and techniques used for these experiments.
  3. What are some of the challenges you expect to face while working on this project, and how do you plan to overcome them? Answer: One of the challenges that I expect to face is developing an efficient and stable electrolyte for the Al-ion cells. I plan to address this by reviewing relevant literature and consulting with experts in the field. Additionally, I will conduct several experiments to test different electrolytes and select the most suitable one based on the performance metrics.
  4. How do you plan to ensure the safety and ethical standards while working on this project? Answer: Safety is of utmost importance in any laboratory setting, and I will adhere to all safety protocols while working on the project. Additionally, I will make sure that all research activities are conducted ethically and follow the guidelines set forth by the institutional review board and other regulatory bodies.
  5. What are your long-term career goals, and how does this position align with them? Answer: My long-term career goal is to become a leading researcher in the field of energy storage systems. This position aligns perfectly with my career aspirations as it provides an opportunity to work on an industry-sponsored research project and gain valuable experience in the field.
