Job Accountabilities:

• Support shift in charge for shift coordination work.
• Prioritize the samples for testing.
• Provide appropriate containers for sample collection and designate proper carriers for sample distribution and pre-testing storage.
• Ensure usability of chemicals/standards for tests and perform tests by following step-by-step procedures. Validate test results before reporting.

Calibration:

• Identify calibrations as per the method protocol and instrument schedule.
• Prepare calibration and working standards as needed.
• Perform calibrations as per the method and instrument schedule and standardize laboratory solutions.
• Evaluate the performance of additives and process chemicals.
• Collect raw material samples as required and track the quality of incoming materials.
• Conduct timely testing and result reporting of raw materials, in-process samples, products, and troubleshooting samples across all plants.
• Classify product grades based on specifications.
• Detect exceptions or deviations in test results.
• Perform on-spot mitigation in emergency situations under the guidance of the section head.
• Ensure proper sample retention per defined lab procedures for customer issue resolution.
• Safely dispose of leftover samples per SOP and coordinate further actions with the plant and other agencies.

Awareness & Systems Knowledge:

• Awareness of Laboratory Quality Systems requirements and proficiency in LIMS and SAP QM operations for daily laboratory tasks.
• Maintain laboratory inventory (reagents, glassware, and equipment) and ensure timely availability.
• Participate in lab quality system audits, including safety-related ones.

Data Management:

• Comply with quality systems.
• Ensure timely entry and approval of test results in LIMS.

HSE & Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay informed about environmental, site, and statutory regulations.
• Handle chemicals and tools following safety norms.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure safe working conditions.
• Follow and enforce applicable HSE procedures/practices.

Learning & Mentoring:

• Conduct on-the-job training for analysts and new joiners regarding laboratory analytical work and safety practices.

Business/Function-Specific Competencies:

• Participate in external training sessions and events as directed by the section head.
• Timely execution of assigned tasks despite potential plan changes.
• Work with multiple interfaces, including business, customers, operations, E&M, and HSEF.
• Manage samples and prioritize activities effectively.

Education Qualification: B.Sc. in Chemistry (Master’s preferred)
