Job Title: QUALITY CONTROL ANALYTICAL SCIENTIST
Location: GC _L&C Mumbai
- MSc. (+ 2 years’ experience), or BSc (+ 5 years’ experience) in analytical chemistry or related areas
- Handling of Gas chromatography and Mass spectrometry for analytical analysis in a commercial or research lab

- Interpret GC/GC-MS data
- Release the product in system on timely manner with high level of accuracy.

- Can you tell us about your experience working with Gas Chromatography (GC) and Mass Spectrometry (MS) in a commercial or research lab?
Answer: Yes, I have experience working with GC and MS instruments in a commercial lab where I performed analytical analysis of various samples, including food, fragrance, and cosmetic products. I have also worked with these instruments in a research lab during my academic studies where I conducted experiments to identify and quantify chemical compounds in complex mixtures.
2. How do you ensure that you achieve high accuracy and timely release of products in the system?
Answer: I follow a rigorous quality control process that includes calibration of the instruments, preparation of standards and controls, and validation of the analytical methods. I also maintain detailed records of my work and review my results carefully before releasing the product in the system. If any issues arise, I communicate them promptly to my manager and collaborate with my co-workers to resolve them.
3. What are some of the reporting tools and databases that you have used to prepare and review analytical reports?
Answer: I have used various software packages such as ChemStation, MassHunter, and Empower to process and analyze raw data from GC and MS instruments. I have also used Excel, Access, and LIMS to organize and manage the data, create tables and graphs, and generate reports that meet the requirements of our customers and regulatory agencies.
4. How do you handle instrument troubleshooting and provide technical support as an expert analytical chemist?
Answer: I have a strong background in analytical chemistry, which enables me to diagnose and solve problems that may arise with the instruments or the methods. I am familiar with various troubleshooting techniques, such as optimizing the parameters, replacing the consumables, and cleaning the components. I also collaborate with the service engineers and the application specialists to ensure that the instruments are maintained and upgraded as needed.

Answer: Yes, I have worked in various shifts, including day, evening, and weekend, depending on the workload and the customer requirements.
