  • Grinding and granulometry studies,
  • Base mix Granulation and Green pelletizing
  • Sintering of green mix, Induration / curing of pellets, Waste utilization through pellet/sinter
  • Testing of sinter and pellets as per BF or SAF conditions

Purpose of the Job:

Purpose: Iron ore agglomerates (Sinter & Pellets) are important part of BF burden and Tata Steel Jamshedpur has been producing 8 million tons of sinter and setup India’s biggest pelletizing plant with 6 million TPA capacity at Jamshedpur. In addition to this, Tata Steel Kalinganagar, Tata Steel Miramnadali and Tata Steel Long

Products also operates sinter plants and pellet plants.

Specific job: Regarding Sintering, Characterization, granulation, sintering and testing of sinter. Regarding pelletizing, characterization, grinding, green pelletizing, induration and testing of iron ore, iron ore pellets & chromite pellets and cold bonded pellets.
Design of experiments, Lan & Pilot scale trials, Plant data collection and analysis, Demonstration of R&D results ant plant scale; R&D project formulation, defense and execution, Project report submission, Technical/ Research publications and IPR drafting and filing in the domain of sintering and pelletizing.

End result: To support the technical/ research requirements of Sintering and pelletizing plant by carrying out research and implementation projects. To generate innovative ideas in this domain to explore the unexplored areas in the domain of sintering and pelletizing to improve productivity, reduce cost, energy consumption and hazardous solid and gaseous emissions
