Job Title: Specialist PD and Research

Location: IND, PUNE, ADHESIVE TECHNOLOGIES

Eligbility Criteria & skills: 

• Minimum 6 years of experience in formulation of adhesive products, product development, testing validation and structure-property relationships.
• Ph.D./MSc degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Sciences, Materials Science
• Experience in synthesis of polyurethanes and formulation chemistry of 1K & 2K polyurethane (PU) adhesives, reactive PU hotmelt and polyurethane dispersions (PUDs)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, data analysis, report preparation and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
• Strong ability to design and implement experiments and ability to support product scale up and commercialization.
• Individual with proven track record of success in new technologies and products with commercial success, patent and scientific publication in peer reviewed journals

YOUR ROLE

• Lead, manage and execute adhesive MOC formulation projects for several SBUs/technologies
• Self-starter with strong drive for project delivery, strong inclination and expertise in digital tools, excellent collaboration and engagement with internal/external customers & functions across regions to ensure on-time execution of projects • Prepare professional project reports and communicate results and findings to relevant groups.
• Train and mentor associate chemists/ technicians/ engineers • Implement solutions around logistics for key lab activities necessary for successful project completion • Steer and facilitate knowledge sharing and support project teams in problem solving.
• Lead document preparation for audit certifications (IATF, ISO, etc.) as required.
• Implement and sustain organization’s safety, health, environment, quality and 5S standards in lab and contribute to safe work environment.
• Trace, record and present necessary CAPEX requirements and lead procurement, installation and commissioning

1. Can you tell us about your experience in polyurethane (PU) adhesive formulation?

Answer: Yes, I have over six years of experience in formulation of adhesive products, product development, testing validation and structure-property relationships. I also have experience in synthesis of polyurethanes and formulation chemistry of 1K & 2K polyurethane (PU) adhesives, reactive PU hotmelt and polyurethane dispersions (PUDs).

2. How do you approach designing and implementing experiments for product development?

Answer: I usually start by defining clear objectives and then develop a hypothesis to test. I design the experiment with the appropriate controls and statistical analysis to ensure that the data generated is reliable. I also document the entire process and results for future reference.

3. Can you give an example of a project that you led and the outcome?

Answer: Sure, in my previous role, I led a project to develop a new adhesive product for a customer. I worked closely with the customer to understand their needs and then designed and executed experiments to develop the product. The project was a success and we were able to deliver a product that met the customer’s requirements.

4. How do you keep up with the latest advancements in adhesive technology and chemistry?

Answer: I regularly attend industry conferences, read scientific literature, and participate in online forums to keep up to date with the latest advancements. I also network with other professionals in the industry to share knowledge and ideas.

5. Can you tell us about a time when you had to solve a complex problem related to adhesive formulation?

Answer: Yes, I had a project where we were having difficulty achieving the desired viscosity for an adhesive product. After extensive research, we found that the problem was due to the purity of one of the raw materials. We were able to find a supplier with a higher purity raw material and successfully achieved the desired viscosity.
