Job Title: Research Scientist (Team Lead, Analytical Science)
Location: 112890 – Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Eligibility Criteria:
- M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry with strong fundamental knowledge in basic chemistry, compliance (CGMP, USFDA, and TGA), and good knowledge of techniques and instrumentation – LC/GC/IC/ICP and AAS
- Min 12 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry and working knowledge of formulations to help easy development of Analytical methods
- Drive innovation by working closely with Oral Care/Personal Care development teams
- Good communication skills and ability to work/provide input in a team of cross-functional members
- Build a future-ready agile organization in terms of infrastructure, talent, and processes while being compliant to defined safety, quality & regulatory norms.
- Microsoft Office or Google Suite proficiency (i.e, Sheets, Slides, Docs) preferred
As a team lead within the Analytical Sciences group at Colgate’s – India Global Technology & Design Centre you should be able to
partner with multiple stakeholders (Internal & External) to deliver on the common business agenda for the organization & Manufacturing Sites. Should be well versed with laboratory compliance, USFDA and TGA norms, quality and safety standards, and government regulations. Must have led a team size of 5-7 scientists, and proficient in digital tools like LIMS and eLN.You will have the primary responsibility of overseeing stability study requests from development labs across different Sites of Colgate-Palmolive – North America, Latam, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In addition, competition tracking and evaluation of counterfeit products will also be a vertical that this profile will supervise.
Main Responsibilities:
You are an innovator- You will look to identify breakthrough techniques in Analytical Chemistry for the assessment of Oral/Home and Personal care formulas. You should be able to leverage internal reports or external scientific literature to add value to projects. Challenge current ways of working/process and bring in new ways of working that will bring benefit to the overall process/organization.
Operational Excellence- It is crucial to have end-to-end knowledge on techniques in Analytical Chemistry and ensure 100% compliance to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Leverage Science & statistics to make quick decisions on process improvements/optimizations in the Analytical Science Laboratory. Be agile and respond quickly to changing stakeholder and/or business expectations. You should have the strong business acumen to support business strategy and must respond to stakeholder requests and priorities with a great sense of urgency.
Stakeholder Management- In this role, you’ll establish partnerships with multiple parties including internal (Reg Ops, PDM, Product Development, Supply chain, Global Analytical group, Global product development teams, and Manufacturing units) & external (Suppliers, Contract Manufacturing Sites and Regulatory authorities) cross-functional teams. These relationships are vital to achieving deliverables and common goals. Ensure a state of USFDA audit readiness of the laboratory at all times.

Influences coach the team and build effective partnerships.
