Job Title: Scientist

Eligibility: PhD. in Organic Chemistry with experience in synthesis and characterization of organic molecules, intermediates, pigments is preferred (SSC,HSC, B.Sc. & M.Sc first class).

Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in industrial research & development work.

Skills:

• Consistently excellent academic record with minimum first class in SSC, HSC, BSc and MSc
• Core knowledge of synthesis and hands on experience related to organic intermediates, dyes & pigments (azo chemistry and heterocycles), Unit operations (nitration, sulfonation, etc), named reactions, oxidations, reductions, etc. Capable of analysis and documentation of laboratory experiments
• Application knowledge of colorants in paints, coatings, plastics and inks
• Very strong analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
• Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent  English communication (written and spoken)  and interpersonal skills in a global and remote team environment
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple, complex deliverables that require effective teamwork & communications with stakeholders such as Business units, technical marketing, procurement, and manufacturing/supply chain partners
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute projects for R&D, technical service and production support and propose new ideas. Work across cross functional teams for solving technical challenges
• Provide monthly technical updates and presentations for project related activities on timely basis. Maintain a very organized and detailed laboratory notebook and proper documentation of results for knowledge sharing. Write reports and make presentations as needed.
• Interpret structure of intermediates and final products using NMR, LCMS, IR, XRD, HPLC , etc. Perform literature search using engines such as Scifinder, Reaxys, Espacenet etc
• Handle different chemistry in the Lab and follow safe laboratory practices. Should be flexible to work as an individual or in a team, based on demand
• Support and drive scale up activities. Use expertise for troubleshooting problems/tasks related to process development and technology transfer from lab to plant scale
• Ability to think out-of-the-box for new project opportunities, transformational innovative ideas and propose new technology
• Expert in planning & prioritizing lab work to maximize the output
• Guide coworkers and ensure good laboratory practices
• Drive the project forward with creativity, endurance and collaborations to meet milestones and objectives.
