Job Description:  

  1. To follow the departmental SOPs strictly for all the responsibilities assigned.
  2. To dispense right medications based on the prescription received after checking the expiry, batch number and the MRP and ensure pleasing service to the customer.
  3. To provide pleasing service to customer satisfaction and explain the prescriptions, convince to substitutes if necessary.
  4. To communicate with doctors for the availability of substitute whenever there is an enquiry for the brands which are not available
  5. To co-ordinate between the colleagues of other shifts for any commitments given to the customers for the patients with respect to the drugs.
  6. Proper handling of cash and ensure that there is no discrepancy in the cash or card transaction during the shift.
  7. To co-ordinate with supervisor for procurement and storage of medications as per the day to day requirements.
  8. To have a thorough knowledge of generic, brand names and category of all the available drugs
  9. To guide the Pharma aid for the removal of near expiry, non moving stocks and to report the same to the supervisors
  10. To monitor storage conditions of the drug.
  11. To guide the Pharma aid for receiving and arranging the drugs as per the storage conditions in the respective areas and to monitor for the appropriateness
  12. To give feed back on slow moving and fast moving drugs. Bouncing of prescriptions to be noted and highlighted to the HOD.
  13. To maintain correct inventory of stock as per the system stock and assist in quarterly stock audit.
  14. To check the packing conditions and quantity of drugs during returns
  15. To monitor Refrigerator temperature on day to day basis and to document the same.
    IP PHARMACY:
  16. To follow the departmental SOPs strictly for all the responsibilities assigned.
  17. To dispense right medication based on the indents raised after checking the expiry, batch number and the MRP
  18. To ensure that all the indents received in the In patient pharmacy are dispatched on time without a delay.
  19. To communicate with nursing staffs and doctors for the availability of substitute whenever there is an enquiry for the brands which are not available
  20. To ensure that medicines are reached to the respective areas on time by monitoring the house keeping personnels in the In patient pharmacy
  21. To have a thorough knowledge of generic, brand names and category of all the available drugs.
  22. To co-ordinate with supervisors for procurement of medicines as per the day to day requirements.
  23. To guide the Pharma aid for the removal of near expiry, non moving stocks and to report the same to the supervisors.
  24. To guide the Pharma aid for receiving and arranging the drugs as per the storage conditions in the respective areas and to monitor for the appropriateness.
  25. To co-ordinate between the colleagues of other shifts for any commitments given to the nursing staffs for the patients with respect to the drugs.
  26. To prepare GRN in absence of the respective person or in case of emergency.
  27. To strictly follow the SOP for the issue of narcotics with the proper documentation.
  28. To maintain correct inventory of stock as per the system stock and assist in quarterly stock audit.
  29. To monitor usage of restricted antibiotics.
  30. To check for appropriateness of prescription for drug dose and drug to drug interactions.
  31. To check the packing conditions and quantity of drugs during IP returns.
  32. To monitor Refrigerator temperature on day to day basis and to document the same

Qualifications:  

  • Preferred Education:
  • Diploma /Bachelor in Pharmacy
  • Fresher or 1-2 years of experience in the hospitals or retail pharmacy
  • Education:UG -B.Pharma – Pharmacy
  • PG – M.Pharma – Pharmacy
  • Doctorate – Doctorate Not Required
