About the Role
As a Specialist Supplier Quality, you will be the subject matter expert in QA/QC, ensuring that all raw materials (RM) and packaging materials (PM) supplied by vendors meet specifications. You will play a critical role in driving quality consistency, implementing process improvements, and fosterin
g a culture of quality among suppliers.Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance at Supplier Premises:
- Develop and implement specifications for RM and PM at supplier sites.
- Identify gaps in supplier processes and implement corrective actions.
- Enhance supplier awareness of quality standards and expectations.
- Ensure materials meet legal and internal/external requirements.
- Process Improvement:
- Lead process improvement strategies, including Lean & Six Sigma methodologies (5S, Kaizen, A3s, etc.).
- Collaborate on cost-effective solutions for quality, safety, and performance.
- Assist in implementing the One Manufacturing framework.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training plans, materials, and tools for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Train lab operators in sample analysis and rapid decision-making.
- Quality Management:
- Support ISO 9001 implementation at supplier premises.
- Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, and production teams to resolve RM and PM issues.
- Develop test methods for hazardous chemicals and critical materials.
- Incident Management:
- Participate in incident investigations and implement safety action plans.
- Promote a strong safety culture across supplier and plant operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: M.Sc. in Chemistry, B.Sc. in Chemistry, or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
Experience:
- At least 5 years in Supplier Quality or Supplier Quality Management in chemical, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, explosive, or industrial sectors.
- Minimum of 3 years in laboratory chemical analysis.
Certifications: Lead or Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2015.
Technical Proficiency: Statistical tools such as SPC, SQC, sampling, and root cause analysis.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel to vendor and supplier locations.
