ADVERTISEMENT FOR AWARD OF RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (RA) & JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (JRF)
Centre for High Energy Systems & Sciences (CHESS), Hyderabad, a premier Centre of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), invites applications from young and meritorious Indian nationals, who desire to pursue defence related research with field work as Research Fellows. Candidates possessing requisite qualifications for the award of Research Fellowships against positions vacant at this Laboratory, in the subject/disciplines as detailed below:

General Conditions for Junior Research Fellows (JRF):
- Candidates who have attained the essential qualifications and awarded degree on or before 31st July 2024 are only eligible to apply.
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years for JRF as on closing date of application. Upper age limit is relaxable to candidates as per government of India orders.
- Candidates who are NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, MUST NOT apply.
- Candidates working in Govt / Public sector undertaking / autonomous bodies should produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Interview, if called for the same.
- Candidates will be required to produce all the testimonials (certificates, marks memorandum, etc.) related to education and caste/category certificate (in Government prescribed format, if applicable) in original during verification and submit photocopies of the same along with copy of Aadhaar card and two recent passport size photographs, if selected for the interview. Failing which the selection will get cancelled.
- A monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000/- and Residential Accommodation will be provided. In case of non-availability of accommodation, HRA will be paid as per admissible rules.
- Fellowship will be initially awarded for a period of 02 (Two) years. Further this may be upgraded as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) for a period of one year (year 3). SRF may again be extended for a period of one more year (Year 4) based on Performance.
- Selection Procedure: After scrutinizing the marks, percentage and score, short-listed candidates shall be notified for interview.
- No TA/DA will be admissible.
- The offer of Research Associate does not under any circumstances confer on the candidates any right for absorption in DRDO.
- The period of service rendered as research fellow will not be treated as service period for any government appointment.
- CHESS reserves the right to adopt its own method of short-listing criteria and is NOT obliged to shortlist all the candidates who fulfill the minimum requirement. Mere fulfillment of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate to be selected.
- The Competent Authority has the right to modify the terms and conditions or cancel the entire selection process without any prior notice at any given time.
- How to apply: Candidates should download from ‘What’s New’ column and fill the Application Form in the prescribed format (available on the website www.drdo.gov.in). The signed Application Form along with certificate in support of minimum educational qualification, matriculation certificate /birth certificate in support of date of birth, GATE/NET Score card (if applicable), valid as on closing date of application, NOC (Wherever applicable), caste certificate (if applicable) should be scanned in a single PDF file and emailed to [email protected] before the closing date. The last date for receipt of duly filled application through email shall be 30 days after publication of this advertisement in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar. CHESS, Hyderabad shall not be responsible for non-receipt of application/incomplete application. Incomplete/partially filled applications shall be rejected.
