The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first Institute of its kind to be set up in the State of Bihar in the year 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under NIPER Act 1998 at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar. It is a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences, conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas.
Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian Nationals for the position of Project Research Scientist I on a purely contractual basis.

| Minimum Qualification | The candidate must have First class Post Graduate Degree or Second Class Post Graduate Degree with PhD in Chemistry or Medicinal/Pharmaceutical/Process Chemistry area. |
| Desirable Qualifications | The candidate should have 1-2 years experience in organic synthesis, especially in asymmetric synthesis and multistep synthesis. Candidate must have experience in modern characterization techniques including chromatography, spectroscopy (UV, IR, NMR, HRMS etc.). Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in multistep synthesis, in silico docking and publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience in industry would be added advantage. |

The post will be governed as per terms and conditions of ICMR Grant No.: ICMR IIRP-2023-5331/F1 and is advertised in anticipation of release of fund from ICMR. Joining date is contingent upon the availability of funds.
