Details
- Stipend: PhD students receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 37,000, enhanced to Rs 42,000 after registration.
- I-PhD students: Monthly fellowship of Rs 25,000 for the first year, increased to Rs 37,000 from the second year and Rs 42,000 after PhD registration.
- Hostel accommodation or HRA is provided as applicable.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates holding a 4-year undergraduate degree with a minimum of 75% aggregate are eligible to apply directly to the PhD program. I-PhD students who complete the program are awarded an MSc degree in addition to the PhD.
Application Procedure
Candidates can apply online at https://www.tifr.res.in/academics/. The application process allows registration for multiple tests, provided the timings do not clash. A request for a waiver of the application fee can be submitted based on financial distress.
