Advertisement for Post-doctoral fellow within CEFIPRA funded research project in the Department of Chemistry
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of post-doctoral fellow in the research area of Long-lived mechanoluminescent moleculesto upconversion hybrid composites for information encryption and photocatalysis under the “Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research” project funded by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Government of France. Project No. 6705-1.
Project Description:
The project is focused on the development of the long-lived luminescent probe using organic and lanthanide-based upconversion nanoparticles. A thorough spectroscopic (XPS, solid state NMR), microscopic (HRTEM, AFM) and electrochemical techniques (EIS, chronoamperometry) along with time-resolved spectroscopy will be employed for the characterizations of the developed materials. The developed materials can be employed for the photocatalysis and security encryption.

Duration:Â 1 year (initially for 6 months, which is extendable to another 6 months based on performance and mutual interest).
Eligibility:
- Ph.D degree working in the relevant domain of the project or Ph.D. thesis submitted working in the field of proposed research having quality research publications
- Candidates should have relevant research experience in the field of the project, particularly in the fabrication and time-resolved spectroscopic and electrochemical characterizations of luminescent long-lived organic probe and upconversion nanoparticles
- M.Sc. or equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA ≥ 7.0
- Candidates must have Mathematics at the 10+2 or undergraduate (Bachelor) level
- Candidates should be below 40 years of age at the time of application.
Desirables:
Candidates with physical/organic chemistry background with experience of handling inert atmosphere, multi-step reactions, characterizations of luminescent organic probe and upconversion nanoparticles, well-versed with electron microscopy, XPS and electrochemistry (EIS, chronoamperometry) and time-resolved fluorescence measurements will be preferred.
Salary:Â 47,000 (basic) + HRA
