Job Title: Concept Development Planner – Low Carbon

Location: Bengaluru, KA, IN

Eligibility Criteria, Experience & Skills: 

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical) from a recognized university with GPA 7.0 and above
  • MBA in Oil &Gas/ Engineering Management or relevant field can be advantageous
    Minimum 7 years of work experience in the Oil and Gas and/or Petro-Chemical industries with managing two or more of the following roles
  • Business development, Acquisition/ Divestment, Concept selection, Project Development, Project Management, Facility design, Subsurface (Reservoir Engineering or Geosciences), Government engagement
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and in writing
  • Strong personal drive and accountability mindset; hands on approach with ability to elevate
  • Good understanding of the one or more technical aspects of
  • Hydrogen production, Carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), Carbon dioxide transport
    Upstream/Downstream Process/Facilities
  • Integrated understanding of screening concepts and economics
  • Basic understanding of statistical principles to assist in probabilistic modeling and characterization of opportunity uncertainty
  • Demonstrated business acumen, can deal with ambiguity, and is exceptional at balancing corporate intent with delivering pragmatic, practical solutions
  • Ability to assess low carbon markets and value chains in order to identify investment opportunities
  • Ability to lead/leverage a multi-functional and diverse workforce to drive alignment & influence key outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and has demonstrated ability to manage complex issues effectively / clear articulation of business case/value proposition that resonates with shareholders
  • Ability to clearly and concisely convey complex ideas and recommendations to management/leadership
  • Ability to prioritize between projects & synergize projects with an outlook of cost optimization

Job Responsibilities

  • Leading Development Planning input into evaluations for Low Carbon Solutions investment opportunities in the earliest phases, including market assessment and identification of business opportunities
  • Coordinating with other functions (like Value Chain, Geosciences, Facilities Design, Process Engineering, etc.) to develop a business case, appropriate screening concepts, and screening estimates and facilitating the progression of new project opportunities to concept selection
  • Performing economic analysis for all funding activities for assigned project(s) in with support of the project team, as well as facilitating workshops/brainstorming sessions to on identifying identify range of potential economic outcomes
  • Have an in-depth understanding of the fiscal regime and economic model for the opportunities being evaluated
  • Have a working knowledge of profitability analysis; develop, maintain, steward, and use economic models to support business decisions; be conversant with and be able to explain results of cash flow and economic analysis to all levels of management
  • Identify potential technology extensions and engage company Subject Matter Experts to check feasibility
  • Co-lead early pursuit opportunity studies to identify additional information needs and/or readiness to proceed to acquisition or divestment
  • Have an understanding of the principles of cost estimating; work with available estimating tools and Cost and Schedule estimators to develop screening estimates for a broad range of development concepts
  • Complete annual Planning & Budgeting inputs and year-end reserves reporting.
  • Advocate recommended course of action to decision-makers, including external stakeholders such as Co-venture partners and Government agencies.
  • Play an integrator role, actively manage interfaces with senior business leadership, and multiple technical disciplines, including commercial, Co-venture partners and Government agencies
