Postdoctoral Fellow Post in J.C. Bose Fellowship Award – IISER Kolkata
Postdoctoral Fellow Post A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in a Project J.C. Bose Fellowship Award to Prof. Sourav Pal. The position is funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India. The position will be based at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER-K). Nature of job will involve theoretical and computational chemistry.
The initial appointment will be for a one-year, extendable by one more year based on performance and research interests.
Fellowship will be per DST guidelines, which is Rs. 55,000/- per month on a consolidated basis. However, Rs. 35,000/- per month on a consolidated basis will be given for candidates who have submitted the thesis but degree not awarded.
Interested candidates are required to first write an email (with Subject line “Postdoctoral Fellow”) to Prof. Sourav Pal ([email protected]) with a detailed CV (academic qualifications, technical skills, relevant research experience, and any accomplishments) by 27th January 2020. Only candidates who meet the requirements will be invited to appear for an interview on location at IISER Kolkata. Walk-in candidates will not be entertained.
Qualifications for Postdoctoral Fellow: PhD in Physics/ Chemistry. Candidates
who have submitted the thesis and awaiting award of degree may also apply. Consistently good academic record and publication will be preferable for this purpose.Desirable Experience for Postdoctoral Fellow: Experience of quantum mechanics / quantum chemistry.
Accommodation: If accommodation is provided by the Institute based on the request of the candidates, then necessary fees will be deducted from the monthly fellowship as per Institute norms. However, the institute does not guarantee accommodation.
Leave rules: Each Postdoctoral fellow will be entitled for leave as per Institute norms.
