Job Title: Team Member-strategic Sourcing(api & Raw Material)

Job Description
Purpose:

• Ensure timely availability of API & Raw Material materials to enable batch executions on time for Formulation R&D projects
• Ensure cost-competitiveness of the materials sourced
• Vendor management & relationship building
• Facilitate vendor evaluation, qualification/approval process
• Develop & implement sourcing strategies
• Adhere compliance to Regulatory/GMP/Business ethics
• Implement better systems & process improvements to overall improve efficiency & effectiveness

Key Responsibilities:

1. Timely material availability for R&D projects

• Ensure the regular availability of Materials for IPDO as well as for Formulation Plants that are available in approved condition as per the timelines to supportManufacturing, R&D and Business requirements.
• Review & monitor the supplies/delivery timelines along with the delivery management, Planning, MSAT, Production/Manufacturing, QC/QA etc. and align according to business priorities/expectations (with the project managers in case of R&D).
• Continuous tracking & monitoring the sourcing activities so that timely actions are initiated for order placement and delivery of required materials.
• Providing Market Intelligence, market information/ changes/ developments etc. that would enable right business decisions & building sourcing strategies.

2.Maintain cost-competitiveness of the products

• Conduct & lead the vendor negotiations such that the materials sourced are as per the target prices and maintain throughput of the product.
• Prepare & maintain business cases for each products sourced, map competition scenarios, pricing strategies, evaluate & analyze the market data/competition strategies etc.
• Track savings targeted for the given fiscal year and take necessary corrective steps to ensure that the savings target is achieved

3. Vendor management & relationship building for a long-term benefits

• Arrange the required technical documents: Working Standards, Impurities, TSE/BSE certificates etc. as per the Vendor Qualification/ Requalification SOP to comply with changing regulatory/GMP requirements
• Enter into a long-term supply arrangement with suppliers/vendors wherever feasible that would enable the organization to receive better quality/service, firm commitments on availability, vendors’ commitment to maintain its cost-competitiveness in market.
• Support QA/QC/RA departments by arranging the documents & information required for audits and address deficiency for material/vendor/product approvals etc. from respective business partners.
• Arrange vendor audits for the respective vendors as per the timelines defined by QA dept.

4. Develop & Implement long-term Sourcing Strategies

• Collect & analyze market information, key competitor analysis through various possible market data-intelligence and review sourcing strategies accordingly seeking relevant/ key information on the pricing/ costing etc. to help derive right and relevant sourcing strategies.

5. Compliance

• Review guidelines received from QA/ project managers. Track open deviations and advances and resolve the same; review POs for specification numbers, excise duty, CST details, artwork,price, payment terms etc. in accordance to the purchase manual.

6. Rejection Handling

• Monitor rejections received from QC or online rejection received from QA or Production
• Monitor initiation of CAPA at vendor site, negotiate with vendor for replacement
• Coordinate with QC / QA / Production to resolve any issues on proving rejection

7. Alternate Vendor Identification

• Identify issues around delivery, rejections, business continuity, pricing for vendors
• Initiate AVD process for mitigating above risks, as per VQ SoP.
