Job Description:

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Human Hygiene team is involved in generating insights and delivering new technologies to Design & Deploy teams across categories in Personal Care. One of the key thrust areas within the program is to build the analytical capabilities for understanding the fate of actives in formulation, deposition of actives and metabolite profiling of small and large molecules from bacteria and human cells. This work is critical in evaluation of technologies as well mechanistic understanding of bacterial and host interplay and key to development of new technologies in the area of microbiome management.

JOB SUMMARY (JOB DESCRIPTION)

  • Detection and quantification of molecules using both analytical and spectroscopic techniques.
  • Design, develop and validate new analytical and spectroscopic methods for evaluating actives.
  • Develop and customize analytical techniques to meet project needs and quick online analytics.
  • Interpret data and communicate scientific results through technical reports and presentations.
  • Management of analytical outsourcing services (in specific areas as appropriate) through audit of 3P analytical laboratories
  • Management of day to day operations of equipment and establishing best practice in instrument maintenance and operations.
  • Building and managing the outsourcing projects and ensure OTIF delivery. Monitor progress, provide active support in trouble shooting, and query resolution
  • Interact with the project team to translate the molecular insights to move the projects forward.
  • Interact with 3P labs to outsource routine measurement and co-ordinate to ensure good data generation

Qualifications: 

KEY REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS)

  • M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences, preferably Analytical or Physical chemistry
    3-5 years experience in analytical instrumentation and spectroscopic techniques gained either through industrial or academic research.
  • Hands on experience in analytical (HPLC, GC) and spectroscopic (UV, NMR, IR) techniques preferred.
  • Proven track record in composition analysis, material characterization and trace level impurity detection.
  • Experience in data validation and documentation.
  • Basic appreciation of statistics and data analysis tools.
  • Sound knowledge in basic data processing software.
