CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute is a premier national laboratory under Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. The Institute undertakes a wide range of basic and applied R&D projects spanning the areas of chemistry, biology and engineering. The Institute has excellent infrastructure by way of sophisticated analytical instruments, modern laboratories, pilot plants, library, local area network and workshop.

Position I
Job Title: Principal Scientist
No. of Posts: 1
Salary: ₹151464/-
Qualifications:
- Essential : Ph.D. in Chemistry with 3 years’ post Ph.D. Experience relevant to the job.
- Desirable : Experience in process development and filing of patens in the area relevant to his/her job, maintenance and using of sophisticated analytical instruments, work experience in the chemistry of biologically, environmentally and industrially important metalions, their selective detection and extraction is desirable. Experience as independent researcher to lead research group/guiding of Ph.D. students,
as evident from independent publications and patents in the relevant area is also desirable. Candidates
having experience in Product Development/Technology Innovation/Applied Technology etc. will be given
preference.
Position II
Job Title: Senior Scientist
No. of Posts
: 1Salary: ₹ 98304/-
Qualifications:
- Essential : Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry with 2 years of post -Ph.D. experience relevant to the job.
- Desirable : The candidate should have good knowledge in computational methods including
in quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics simulations to cater the problems in macromolecular
systems. Candidates having experience in solid state computations will be of added advantage.
Candidates having Publications/patents in relevant areas and experience in Product Development/Technology
Innovation/ Applied Technology etc. will be given preference.
Position III
Job Title: Senior Scientist

Qualifications:
- Essential : Ph.D. in Chemistry with 2 years Post Ph.D. experience relevant to the job
- Desirable : Preference would be given to candidates having experience in the field of organometallic
chemistry, particularly relevant to the job description and also to those candidates having experience in
Product Development/Technology Innovation/ Applied Technology etc.
Position IV
Job Title: Senior Scientist

Qualifications:
- Essential : Ph.D. in Chemistry with 2 years Post Ph.D. experience relevant to the job
- Desirable : Post-Ph.D. experience in Polymer Chemistry is desirable. Candidates having
experience in Product Development/Technology Innovation/ Applied Technology etc.

b. Applicants should send their applications in the prescribed Application Form (Annexure – I). The following documents should be attached with application duly completed in all respects:
i Attested copies of the Degree Certificates, Proof of date of birth, testimonials and Experience certificates
ii Attested copy of the Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC) in the appropriate Pro Forma prescribed by the Government of India from time totime.
iii Attested copy of the Medical certificate (in case of Persons with Disability candidates) from the prescribed authority in the prescribed format.
iv Attested copy of the Discharge Book/Certificate (in case of Ex-Servicemen candidates).
v Demand Draft of `100/- valid for 3 months drawn in favour of the Director, CSMCRI, Bhavnagar payable at Bhavnagar (No application fee is prescribed for SC, ST, Persons with disabilities, women & Departmental candidates. They should enclose a copy of certificate on the prescribed Pro Forma issued by the Competent Authority in support of their claim along with application).
c. In case of universities/institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc., candidates must convert the same into percentage – based on the formula devised by the concerned University/Institute – at the appropriate place in the Application Form.
d. If any of the testimonials, certificates are in any foreign language, attested & authentic transcripts of the same may invariably be attached along with the application form.

f. Applications from the candidates working in CSIR, Govt.
