The Position
Quality Executive
Job Summary
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the collection of samples of incoming and FG raw materials and test and analyze as per sanitaryware, tiles, and tableware.
- Understand sanitaryware specifications and prepare the RM as per the specification requested by the Manager.
- Understand ball and chain clay material properties and prepare the blend as per sanitary or tile needs.
- Oversee the work of technicians in testing for shade control/adjustment and development of new sanitary wares.
- Inspect and test materials, equipment processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Provide MIS support and maintain data of raw materials and finished products in Google Sheets.
- Assist in maintaining lab equipment, such as Sedigraph, X-Ray Fluorescence instruments, furnaces, kilns, dryers, etc., and track the AMC as per schedule.
- Maintain QC documentation for tests and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the system.
- Maintain 5S in the lab area and report safety issues to the EHS manager.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are implemented and adhered to by QC.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and quality-related issues.
- Support quality improvement activities and implement SPC.
- Maintain lab equipment as per Imerys protocol and standards.
- Monitor workmen productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching during shifts.
- Train new contractor workmen in all aspects of EHS, production, and quality.
- Assist in Operational Excellence I – Cube Activities.
Other Important Functions:
- Act as Document Controller for ISO 9001.
- Serve as Internal 5S Team Leader Auditor.
- Act as Safety Champion and assist the EHS engineer in risk assessment, safety training, and safety-related activities.
Job Specifications:
- Diploma/B.E in Ceramic Engineering or B.Sc in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry.
- 2 to 4 years of experience, worked as Lab Supervisor/Lab Chemist.
- Experience in the tiles/sanitaryware industry is an added advantage.
- Experience in ISO 9001:2008 is an added advantage.
