Job Title: Research Scientist – Inulin Extraction Project
Location: IIT Bombay, Mumbai, India
Duration: 6 Months (with potential for a permanent position)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join a cutting-edge research project at IIT Bombay. The project focuses on extracting inulin from the roots of chicory and involves advanced techniques such as simulated moving bed chromatography, clarification, microfiltration, and chemical analysis. This project is a collaboration with three senior professors from IIT Bombay and will be conducted entirely on-campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducted and managed research experiments on the extraction of inulin from chicory roots.
- Utilize and optimize advanced technological processes, including simulated moving bed chromatography, clarification, and microfiltration.
- Perform detailed chemical analysis to ensure the quality and purity of extracted inulin.
- Document research findings and prepare reports for review by supervising professors.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and professors.
- Contribute to the scaling up of the extraction process for commercial application.
Requirements:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong background in chemical processes and laboratory techniques.
- Experience with chromatography, microfiltration, and chemical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to be present at IIT Bombay for at least 5 days a week.
