Call of Applications for the MNIT Summer Internship Programme
(Offline mode)
May-July 2024

Applications are invited for the Summer Internship Programme for 4 to 6 weeks duration commencing from 3rd June 2024 with fellowship. The internship will be in offline mode. The candidates are required to submit application through email from NITs, IISERs, National Labs, Centrally funded technical Institutions, CFTIs, Government Universities, and Private institutions/Universities and Similar organizations.

1. About the Program

The Summer Internship Program (SIP) is an exceptional opportunity extended by MNIT Jaipur to promising undergraduate and graduate students to work in various academic departments/centres under the mentorship of faculty members on various areas in both theoretical and experimental domains.

2. Program Highlights:

3. Boarding and Lodging

The selected candidates will be able to use the hostel accommodation for which they will have to pay Hostel Rent and messing facility in the Hostel fee as applicable. This will be subject to availability.

4. Eligibility; Undergraduate and Graduate students with minimum 7.00 CGPA

5. Duration: A minimum of 4 weeks to 6 weeks during the summer break of MNIT Jaipur. The duration can be extended based on the inputs of the concerned mentor after the permission of the Competent Authority.

6. Selection Criteria: The selection will be based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience and other academic and professional details provided in the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae.

7. How to Apply: Fill in the Application Form in the given format and email it to the respective supervisor.

8. Financial Support

(a) Support from Institute Funds (Category-I)

The candidates selected at the Institute level for each Academic Unit (Department/Centre) shall be provided hands-on expenses of Rs.10,000/- per month

(b) Support from Ongoing Research Projects (Category-II)

Faculty members acting as Principal Investigator/Co-Principal Investigator shall be able to pay hands-on expenses of Rs.10,000/per month per month UG students and 15000/per month for PG students to the selected candidates from their project budget.

9. General Instructions

• Candidates are advised to visit the Department/Centre website and Faculty profiles to see details of the prospective mentors.
• The selected candidate shall receive a certificate of completion by the mentor.
• During the period of internship, the General Rules of Conduct and Discipline as applicable to MNIT students shall be applicable

Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agriculture Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Bio-technology, Nano-Technology, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production and Industry Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Plastic Engineering.

Post Graduate: Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Transportation Planning, Management, MBA, Water resource engineering, Irrigation, Hydraulics, Psychology, Master of Planning, Industrial Engineering, Social Science.

The last date for submission of applications is 22nd May 2024 (Wednesday).

1. The candidates must select an Internship Supervisor in their relevant field of study/ course.
2. The Candidates are required to do their internship in one department under one supervisor only.
3. List of selected candidates will be displayed on the Institute Website.
4. Hostel accommodation on a sharing basis will be provided subject to availability on a chargeable basis. The application for accommodation (only after being selected for internship) should reach the Dean of Student Affairs office through the faculty supervisor and the HOD for permission. The student will be required to pay the cost of food and access to other amenities (Rs. 150/per day for food, Rs. 70/per day for room rent without mattress, and Rs. 200/per day with mattress. Accommodation is only available if the student pursues internship from 3rd June onwards.
