CSIR-CBRI Principal Scientist Post Vacancy – Salary up to 1.23 Lakh

In order to meet the incoming demands of research in both basic and applied sciences, applications are invited from enthusiastic, young Indian researchers having an excellent academic record and proven scientific achievements with a high degree of motivation and desire to take up research as a career for the following posts of Scientists as per the details given below. The emolument and age limit for various posts as per norms is summarized as below:-

Job Title: Principal Scientist

No.of posts: 01 Post (Lateral Level) (UR)

Age: 45 years

Eligibility Criteria: Ph.D. or equivalent in Chemical Engineering with 3 years experience in the relevant areas of Combustion Processes/Fire Dynamics/Passive & Active Fire Protection. The candidate must have a Masters’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering.

Salary: 7th CPC – Level-13 Rs. 123100/- plus usual allowances

Responsibilties:

• Working Knowledge in some of the areas like Structural Fire Engineering, Disaster
Resistant Structural system, Combustion Processes/Fire Dynamics/Passive & Active Fire Protection.

• Good publication in SCI journals

• Product development/ Technology transfer

How To Apply:

Selected candidates will have to undertake research, development, and innovative
research for product development/technology innovation/applied technology/translational
research activities in the thrust areas of the Institute. Placement of the candidates
in different functional groups will be done as per the requirement of the Institute keeping in mind the knowledge and experience of the selected candidates. In addition to the R&D activities, consultancy/sponsored/grant-in-aid projects are also to be handled either
independently or in a team. Selected candidates as per the requirements may have
to take classes in the laboratory unit of the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR) which is offering the Masters/Ph.D Degrees. Selected candidates will
also have the opportunity to supervise Research Scholars of the Academy (AcSIR)
leading to their Ph.D. Degree as per the norms of the Academy

General information and conditions :

1. Benefits under Council Service:

a. These posts carry usual allowances i.e Dearness Allowance (DA) House rent allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), etc. as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable to CSIR. Council employees are also eligible for the accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR allotment rules depending on availability in which case HRA will not be admissible.

b. In addition to the emolument indicated above, benefits such as the applicability of New Pension Scheme 2004, reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession, Conveyance advance and House Building Advance are available as per CSIR rules.

c. Scientists in CSIR are also permitted to undertake consultancy and sponsored R&D project activity. These activities give them scope to earn consultancy fees and honorariums as per CSIR guidelines. Opportunities also arise for foreign deputations for training/presentation of papers/specific assignments etc.

d. CSIR provides excellent opportunities to deserving candidates for career advancement under the Assessment Promotion scheme for Scientists.

e. Deserving candidates may be considered for advance increment as per CSIR rules.

2. Other conditions

a. The applicant must be a citizen of India.

b. All applicants must fulfill the essential requirements of the post and conditions stipulated in the advertisement as of the last date of receipt of the applications. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications laid down for various posts as on the last date of receipt of the applications. No inquiry asking for advice on eligibility will be entertained.

c. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. The duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates. Selection will be made strictly according to Merit. The candidate should, therefore, mention in the application all the qualifications and experiences in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification, supported with a document. Completion of the Ph.D. degree
will be reckoned from the date of issue of Provisional Certificate/Notification.

d. The application should be accompanied by self-attested copies of the relevant educational qualifications, experience etc.

e. The prescribed qualifications should have been obtained through recognized Universities/Institutions, etc. Incomplete applications/applications not accompanied with the required certificates/documents and applications received after the closing date of the advertisement are liable to be rejected.

f. The period of experience rendered by a candidate on a part-time basis, daily wages, visiting/guest faculty will not be counted while calculating the valid experience for shortlisting the candidates for interview.

g. If any document/certificate furnished is in a language other than Hindi or English, a transcript of the same duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or Notary is to be submitted.

h. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualification, and or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of applications.

i. The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed Educational Qualifications.

j. Persons with disabilities (PwD) fulfilling the eligibility conditions prescribed under GOI instructions are encouraged to apply. Out of 08 posts, one post is reserved for Persons with Disability for either Orthopedically Handicapped/ Locomotor Disability/ Cerebral Palsy/ one leg affected -Right or Left based on suitability of the candidates. All the posts are suitable for PWD with above-mentioned disability.

k. In case a candidate is staying abroad, his/her candidature may be considered in absentia by the Selection Committee on his/her written request.

l. Only outstation in India candidates called and found eligible for interview will be paid to and fro single second class rail fare from the actual place of undertaking the journey or from the normal place of their residence whichever is nearer to the station on the production of Rail Tickets/Rail Ticket Numbers or any other proof of journey.

m. Any discrepancy found between the information given in the application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in the interview. Such candidates will not be paid any travel
fare etc.

n. The decision of the Director, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, and conduct of examination/interview will be final and binding on the candidates.

  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Women/CSIR Employees/Abroad Candidates are
    exempted from submission of application fee.
  • Candidate should keep a copy of the duly filled application for their record.
  • A hard copy of the Application form duly signed and e-receipt of application fee slip along with recent passport size photograph, Self-attested copies of all testimonials/Certificates/marks sheets/Degree in support of qualification, experience, date of birth and Caste, etc. should be placed in a sealed cover super
    scribed “Application for the post of SCIENTIST /PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST (Post Code No.__ ) and send the same to Sr. Controller of Administration, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee247667. Form should reach at the given address within a period of 10 days from the closing date of the Advertisement ie. on or before 30.12.2021.
  • Applications from employees of the Government Department will be considered only if forwarded through proper channels, certified by the employer that the applicant if selected will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders. Also vigilance clearance should also be recorded.
  • However, an advance copy of the application may be submitted before the closing date. Application routed through proper channel should reach to Sr. Controller of Administration, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee-247667 within a period of 20 days from the closing date of the Advertisement ie. on or before 09.01.2022.
  • In case of Universities/Institute awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc. candidates are required to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute
  • Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate Application Form with a separate application fee for each post (Scientist/Principal Scientist) indicating the Post Code and Name of the Post. The hard copy (s) of each application must be accompanied by a separate e-receipt of the application fee slip on account of the application fee.
  • Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and application fee once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process.
  • Candidates should specifically note that the hard copy of applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay, etc.) will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Incomplete applications (i.e. unsigned, without photograph, application fee, applicable testimonials and summary sheet, etc.) will not be entertained and will be summarily rejected.
  •  Applications submitted in a format other than the prescribed format will be rejected.
