Donates Rs. 25 Cr worth of drugs, sanitizers to Support India’s fight against COVID-19
According to a statement from the Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, to support India’s fight against COVID-19, the company will donate Rs 25 crore worth of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQS), Azithromycin, other related drugs, and hand sanitizers.
It added that the World Health Organization (WHO) is studying the use of HCQS in conjunction with Azithromycin to treat COVID-19. The prophylactic use of HCQS for high-risk populations is recommended by the national task force.
Sun Pharma said in a statement, “To ensure that there is an uninterrupted supply of medicines, the company is committed to working closely with the relevant stakeholders and the government.”
It added that to handle the distribution of these products in India, the company is constituting a task force.
In fighting COVID-19, commending the efforts of the entire medical and support fraternity, Sun Pharma said, “To produce high-quality hand sanitizers, the company has repurposed its liquid manufacturing facility in India in order to help these front-line warriors. To healthcare professionals servin

It said in a statement that as they assess its potential to treat COVID-19 through clinical trials, the company is seeking to enable healthcare experts to meet the growing patient demands for this product.
