Job Title: Scientist
Position Summary:
Design, synthesis, development of monomers, oligomers, polymers, more specificaly silicone materials and testing of the same in formulations for diversified applications
Eligibility & Skills:
- Comfortable with polymer synthesis chemistry procedures and characterization techniques
- Experience in developing products designed to meet customer needs with conflicting performance profile
- Experience in developing, applying & evaluation films & coatings on various substrates
- Ability to apply silicone structure-property relationships to formulation design
- Ability to generate IP, partner with IP analyst to understand & use IP landscape
- Ability to lead cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment
- Demonstrates ownership to foster technical knowledge and understanding of business
- Excellent English verbal, written and presentation skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Willingness and aptitude to learn

Job Description:
- Work with stakeholders from different functional teams within Momentive to identify and prioritize impactful opportunities in high growth markets based on global megatrends
- Independently lead multiple projects by planning & executing key process steps to demonstrate feasibility of new products in intended applications
- Responsible for design and development of new silicone and hybrid silicone based formulations for energy storage, electronics & various other applications
- Responsible for developing novel formulations that are designed to meet customer needs in specific applications
- Ability to relate customer needs with product profile & also further with product structure-property relationships
- Able to lead cross-functional project teams with results focus
- Communicates & discusses the results with clarity & conviction with global partners
- Interacts with and works collaboratively with local and global team members
- Demonstrates initiative & motivation in day-to-day activities & strives to enhance the current state of affairs
- Supports the internal and external (at customer) validation of new formulations
- Quickly internalize and maintain safe work practices
- Develops relationships with key customers (internal and external) to assure appropriate communication and responses are provided
- Efficiently interfaces with the commercial team as necessary
