Experience:Â Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 2-4 years related experience or advanced degree.
Job description:
Develop biocompatibility testing strategies to qualify material used in various Baxter devices and container closure systems per global guidelines (ISO10993, USP, and EP). Coordinate and monitor biocompatibility testing with laboratories internal and external to Baxter. Review test results and interpret qualification requirements based on solid understanding of theories/practices utilized in biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo toxicology studies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects to coordinate biological safety testing for Baxter’s product portfolio ensuring compliance to all research, data collection and reporting requirements.
- Independently plan biocompatibility testing, integrating chemical data to develop risk-based testing strategies for devices and container closure system qualifications per global guidelines.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements related to biocompatibility and R&D product development, design and safety.
- Review and interpret material testing results and evaluate the data against product requirements.
Skills:
- The position requires relevant technical knowledge in biocompatibility assays and general understanding of material physical and chemical properties.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments to meet project schedules.
- Ability to understand and apply global regulatory guidelines including OECD and FDA GLP, ISO10993 series, regional compendia.
- Software knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Siemens Teamcenter Unified software recommended.
