University of Cambridge invite applications for two post-doctoral research associates to work with Professor Chris Abell and Professor Alison Smith (Plant Sciences) as part of an EC-funded multi-disciplinary research initiative to obtain biofuel from microalgae. The specific project exploits microfluidic microdroplets (see http://www-microdroplets.ch.cam.ac.uk).
We are looking for biological or physical chemists or technologists to develop methods to study the growth and screening of microalgae in microdroplets. Applicants should have a PhD in Chemistry, nanotechnology or a related subject. A strong track record in chemical or biological science is essential. Experience with microfluidics, lab-on-a-chip device fabrication, lasers, and algae would all be highly advantageous. The positions are available immediately.
