Position Details
Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the ANRF-ARG-funded research project entitled “Structural elucidation of a-Synuclein-viral RNA G-quadruplex-DDX39A interaction triad” at the laboratory of Dr. Adity Bose, Department of Chemistry, Presidency University, Kolkata.

- Co-PI of research project: Dr. Adity Bose, Presidency University, Kolkata
Minimum Educational Qualifications Required
MSc in Chemistry (preferably Physical Special) with UGC-NET qualification for PhD in Category 1/2. Candidates must have biology in Class 11-12.
The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:
- Good knowledge of UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy.
- Previous hands-on experience in the above-mentioned instruments.
- Elementary idea on bio-inorganic and bio-organic chemistry.
- Evidence of good oral and written communication skills in English through presentation.
- Qualification in the UGC-National Eligibility Test in category 1/2.
Additional Information:
- Enrolling for a PhD: The selected candidate may be allowed to enroll in the PhD program in accordance with the University’s rules and regulations.
- Duration of Project: Five years (till 2031).
- Tenure of Assignment: One year, subject to satisfactory performance. Can be extended till the duration of the project and/or availability of funds.
- Fellowship/Salary: As per DST norms.

- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- All the terms & conditions for this recruitment will be as per the guidelines of DST, Govt. of India and Presidency University, Kolkata.
- The above position is purely contractual and is for the duration of the project only. Selected candidates will not be entitled to claim any regular appointments/absorption in this institute.
