Your Role – Chemistry Research Associate Job

The Drug Products and Sciences R&D Stability team supports research and development projects for new and existing products. The Chemistry Research Associate Job (Research Associate III, Stability SME) applies sound chemistry and stability planning expertise to identify and resolve stability-indicating characteristics.

This Chemistry Job involves integrating chemistry and stability to establish shelf life for products and support global product changes. The role also includes developing strategies and making recommendations to meet technical, regulatory, and business requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Represent R&D–Stability on project teams as a key contributor
  • Craft and implement stability strategy plans for new product development
  • Design GMP stability studies for expiration dating
  • Develop technical justifications for expiration dating of products
  • Provide input on stability assessments and product changes
  • Ensure appropriate methods for stability, compatibility, and release testing
  • Identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities with scientific rationale
  • Interact with manufacturing facilities for testing methods and specifications
  • Author, review, and verify technical data, protocols, and reports
  • Act as study director for stability projects
  • Perform LIMS-based stability study administration
  • Optimize processes to enhance stability practices
  • Participate in investigations for out-of-specification results
  • Use scientific reasoning to drive investigations to conclusions
  • Manage multiple stability projects and coordinate with global teams
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and reporting

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5–7 years, Master’s with 3–5 years, or PhD with 0–3 years of experience
  • Strong ability to organize complex information with attention to detail
  • Logical and methodical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with sophisticated databases
  • Technical proficiency in documentation, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Expertise in analytical chemistry (theoretical and practical)
  • Ability to contribute beyond assigned responsibilities
