About the joba
Qualifications & Specialization
Essential:
a) Ph.D. in Physics/Chemistry (Synthesis and self-assembly of colloidal nanoparticles, Photonic Band Gap (PBG) calculations, Light scattering and related topics only)
b) Knowledge in Photonic crystals (PCs), Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), UV-visible spectroscopy and synthesis of colloidal nanoparticles
c) Experience in calculating PBG calculations using software such as MIT- Photonic Bands, COMSOL Multiphysics, analysis of UV-Visible spectroscopy data and Raman scattering data, fabrication of Photonic crystals through self-assembly route.
Desirable:
a) Experience/Knowledge in handling laser-based instruments (e.g. Raman Spectrometer, Confocal microscope, Dynamic Light Scattering technique) and synthesis of colloidal nanoparticles
b) Numerical Simulations of light propagation through periodic dielectric/plasmonic structures by Finite Element Method
Job Requirement:
(i) Numerical simulations of Photonic Crystals/Photonic Band Gap Structure;
(ii) Synthesis, Characterization and Fabrication of photonic crystals, and investigation of fabricated structures for sensing applications using light-based techniques.
