Job Description
Position Title: Lab Assistant – R&D (Flooring)
Department: R&D
Reports to: Dy. Technology Manager
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing the testing of Epoxy Flooring Products RM, PM, and FG as per the specification and Test Method.
- Responsible for performing the testing of Intermediates and Finished products as per the specification and Test Method.
- Ensuring the recording of test results in hard copy as well as soft copy.
- Capable of the modification/Correction of pigments for Ral Colour Matching.
- Ensuring the stock of raw materials, packing material/chemicals, and other consumables items for the laboratory which are being used for our Testing and development.
- Responsible for ensuring all the lab equipment is maintained in good condition and actively participating in lab housekeeping.
- To ensure compliance with ISO and EHS Standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping and 5S in Lab.
- Must be an expert in cube casting, demolding, and testing as per the schedule of the test date.
- Working knowledge of instrument handling (Weighing balance, Lab Mixers, Moisture meter, Compression machine, Tensile Strength/Abrasion tester, pH meter, Viscometers, etc.).
- Experience in R&D or Technical service of Construction chemicals laboratory/Application team.
- Flooring Application skills by Trowel/Brush, etc.
- Ability to collaborate with the team professionally, work independently, and manage remote work.
- Good written and reading skills in English.
- Committed to hard work in testing and handling materials (Lab batches).
- Basic knowledge of computer operation.
- Maintaining secrecy, safeguarding confidential information, and complying with company policies.
Major Activities:
- Perform all types of testing and application work related to Flooring and coating products, including both chemical and physical tests of RM/FG.
- Conduct Lab scale trials and Plant scale trials at different customers’ joint tests.
- Provide technical support to sales marketing when required for site applications.
- Provide support to production during trial batch manufacturing and support QC for testing of new and regular products.

Education: Diploma (Civil/Chemical) or BSc (Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry).
Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in Application of Flooring, Quality Control, chemical analysis, testing of raw materials, and finished goods (preferably Polyurethane/SMP/Epoxy/Acrylics). Construction chemical experience is preferable.
