The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first institute of its kind to be set up in the State of Bihar in 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under the NIPER Act 1998 at Hajipur in Vaishali District of Bihar. It is a center of excellence for higher education, research, and development in pharmaceutical sciences, conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas.
Applications are invited from eligible and suitable Indian nationals for the following Research Associate (RA) position purely on a contractual basis:

Title: Efficient Process Development Strategies for Prevalent “Rare Disease” Drugs
Supervisor: Dr. Vipan Parihar, Associate Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Nature of Post:
- Initial appointment will be for 1 year, which is extendable up to 2 years based on performance.
- The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Emoluments: Rs. 47,000/- + HRA
Minimum Qualification:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Process Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry with an excellent academic record.
- Candidates who have submitted the thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree may also apply.
- Candidate has to produce a letter from the competent authority stating that the thesis has been submitted and the final viva/thesis defense is pending.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in organic synthesis, especially in asymmetric synthesis and multistep synthesis.
- Experience in modern characterization techniques, including chromatography and spectroscopy (UV, IR, NMR, HRMS, etc.).
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in multistep synthesis and a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Previous industry experience would be an added advantage.
