The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed as Ministry of Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on temporary and contractual basis:
Name of the Post: Project Associate-I
No. of posts: 01 (One)
Title of the Project: Bioinformatics-guided enzyme engineering to modulate lower ligand activation and attachment for the production of cobalamin and other cobamide vitamins.

Funding Agency: Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)
Minimum educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry or related specialization.
Preference: Candidates having expertise in Computational chemistry specialization, strong background in biochemistry/biological chemistry and physical chemistry and experience with programming will be preferred.
Job Requirement: Incumbent is expected to do the following:
- Performing computational and experimental research in the area of enzyme sequence-structure-function and enzyme-small molecule binding and interactions.
- Applying knowledge of biochemistry and physical biochemistry using Python / C++ programming, MD simulation, basic machine learning tools, and other upcoming AI / ML techniques.
Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of one year extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 25000/- + 24% House Rent Allowance
Age as on last date of application: Not more than 35 years. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification/s and / or experience/s of the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.
