Tea Research Association is the largest and the oldest tea research entity in the world. It is a pioneer in the research and development of tea and an innovator in providing extension services to the industry. It has ten branches with its registered office at Kolkata.

The Institute is seeking applications from eligible candidates with dynamic, energetic, and innovative qualities for the following vacant positions at TLabs, Kolkata under the NTRF sponsored project entitled “Profiling of characteristic volatile flavour constituents (VFC) and nonvolatile quality components of Indian teas from Darjeeling, Assam, Dooars and other countries.” Project Code No. NTRF: 218/2024.

Research Fellow (Temporary)

No of Post: 01 Upper

Age Limit: 35 years

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in chemistry/Agricultural Chemistry or relevant field

Preferred Qualifications: Research experience in analytical chemistry and/or handling of GC/GC-MS related work & sound statistical knowledge will be preferred.

Monthly Fellowship: Fellowship @ Rs.20,000/- + HRA@ 24% for 1st year and 2nd year and Rs.22,000/- + HRA @ 24% p.m. for 3rd year.

Project duration: Three years only.

Job Responsibility: Project-related research work. The candidate will have the responsibility of field work, bench work on analytical experiments. Candidate will also get opportunity to register for higher degree (subject to attainment of required qualification).

General Instructions:

1. The above posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The appointment will be purely temporary contractual basis and hence the institute will not provide any employment after completion of the project.

4. Only shortlisted candidate will be called for interview. No TA/DA or any other expenses will be provided for attending the interview.

6. All other terms and conditions of appointment will be governed by prevailing Institute rules. Decision of the Chairman of the Selection Committee will be final and binding.
7. Selected candidates need to join immediately or at very short notice.
8. The Secretary, Tea Research Association, Kolkata, West Bengal reserves all rights of selection or rejection of a candidature including cancellation of the interview without assigning any reason thereof.
