We are delighted to introduce the PhD Joint Degree Program (JDP) that brings together the esteemed institutions of IIT Mandi and IIT Ropar. This collaborative PhD program offers a unique opportunity for enrolled students to engage in a multidisciplinary research project. By joining forces with faculty members and research teams from both IIT Mandi and IIT Ropar, participants can leverage the collective expertise and resources of these renowned institutions.
The JDP not only facilitates collaboration but also provides students with access to state-of-the-art facilities and professional development opportunities available at both IIT Mandi and IIT Ropar. This immersive experience ensures that participants receive comprehensive training and exposure to diverse perspectives, preparing them to become exceptional researchers in their respective fields.

Features
- Eligibility criteria for enrolling in a joint PhD Program will be same as that of regular PhD Program of the individual Institute.#
- Candidates need to apply against a specific project which will have a preassigned Home and Host institution along with the joint supervisors from both the institution.
- Home Institution: where the candidates begin their studies and spend the majority of time. The expectation is that candidates will spend a minimum of 12 months at the other Host Institution.
Highlights
- Candidates will be awarded a Ph.D degree jointly by both the Institutions.
- Candidate must meet the admission requirements of both institutions.
- The JDP Scholar shall pay tuition fees only to their Home Institution.
Eligible candidates will be awarded fellowship as per the home institute
norms.
