Advertisement for Research Associate (RA-I) position in Chemistry Applications are invited for Research Associate (RA-I) position under the supervision of Prof. Balaram Mukhopadhyay, Professor, Department of Chemical Sciences.
The position is for only one year but may be extended depending on the performance of the candidate. The research work involves the synthesis of complex bacterial oligosaccharides.
Therefore, particular experience on protecting group manipulations and glycosylations is
required. The project is funded by SERB-DST.
Job Title: Research Associate (RA-I)
Project Title: “Chemical Synthesis of the Oligosaccharides Related to the
Capsular Polysaccharides from Acinetobacter baumannii strains for Potential Vaccine Development”
Funding agency: SERB-DST.
Principle Investigator: Prof. Balaram Mukhopadhyay, Professor, Department of
Chemical Sciences.
Eligbility Criteria: IISER KOLKATA with PhD in Organic Chemistry (synthetic carbohydrate chemistry background preferable).
Remuneration: 47,000 INR per month + 24% HRA.
Tenure: 1 year (extendable on satisfactory performance).
[The fellowship may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completing the
tenure if performance to date is not deemed satisfactory]
Desirable experience and qualifications: Exposure to synthetic organic chemistry,
particularly in the field of synthetic carbohydrate chemistry with publications in
international journals and good academic record. It
has post-PhD experience.
Selection Criteria: The selection for the Research Associate position will be made
based on the past academic record as well as the performance in the interview.
