Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead/Support new product development projects in the area of Adsorbent for contaminant removal applications in Refinery, Petrochemical and Natural Gas processing industries
- Independently carry out experiments in laboratory pilot plant/reactor, data analysis and present to global team
- Understand fundamentals while working with new project and contribute to ideas with the alignment with business objectives
- Ensure alignment and synergy with other R&D centers to avoid re-work, minimize duplication and benefit from lessons learned
- Maintain and enhance (as needed) existing lab for adsorbent preparation, scale up and testing
- Mentor team members and drive productivity of the development projects
- Develop enhanced work processes for Adsorbent team
- Stay current on patent and open literature as they relate to Adsorbent development programs
Basic Candidate Requirements:
• MSc or PhD in Chemistry with 5-8 years experience in R&D environment preferably
in adsorbent/heterogeneous catalyst synthesis, characterization and performance evaluationAdditional Candidate Qualifications:
- Knowledge of UOP technologies: Refining/Petrochemicals/Gas Processing applications
- Prior industrial experience in adsorbent technology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong demonstration of teamwork abilities
- Ideal candidate should have an aptitude to work in R & D setting and bias for action
- Ability to travel up to 10% on an annual basis
- Familiar with Six-Sigma tools and their application
