Key Responsibility
- Design and execute continuous-flow experiments for new and existing chemical processes.
- Evaluate reaction parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, mixing efficiency) to achieve optimal yield, selectivity, and throughput.
- Screen catalysts, solvents, and reagents suitable for continuous processing.
- Develop kinetic and mechanistic understanding of reactions to enable scale-up.
- Translate laboratory-scale flow processes to pilot or production-scale reactors.
- Collaborate with process engineers, manufacturing teams, and safety specialists to ensure robust scale-up.
- Operate and maintain flow systems (tubular reactors, micro reactors, packed-bed reactors, photochemical flow reactors, etc.).
- Develop methods for continuous purification such as continuous extraction, membrane separation, etc.
- Work closely with synthetic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, and production teams.
- Support development of new technologies and contribute to innovation projects in flow chemistry.
