Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives: Analysis and review of IPT lab and Lab management
Major Responsibilities:
- Interpersonal skills to build healthy relationships with colleagues in different functions at the site.
- Decision-making skills regarding in-process quality status of finished products, in-process materials, environment, hygiene/GMP of process equipment, manufacturing area, warehouse, factory premises, and dispatch vehicles from Jhagadia plant.
- Communication skills to understand and provide feedback or solutions within the QA team and to internal customers.
- In-process thinking to conduct in-depth root cause analysis (RCA) of quality and hygiene/GMP-related complex issues and provide feasible shop-floor solutions.
- Decision-making skills to handle in-process quality problems at the site.
- Ensure self and team members consistently follow all EHS rules and procedures.
- Ensure self and team members immediately report any EHS incidents and/or near misses (unsafe acts and conditions) promptly to supervision.
- Attend all required safety training and medical surveillance program requirements.
- Ensure self and team members wear all required PPE.
- Consistently take a leadership role in identifying team members who are and are not following procedures.
- Complete required BBS observations.
- Ensure zero injuries for self and team members due to unsafe actions/behaviors or failure to follow established procedures or guidelines.
- Identify and report to supervision opportunities to reduce energy and water use, and waste generation within your work area.

Education:
- Postgraduate in Chemistry or a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Dairy Chemistry, or Food Science with 2-3 years of experience in the food industry, or
- Graduate in Chemistry or Food Science with 4-5 years of experience in the food industry.
Background:
- Knowledge of analytical procedures/operating methods of equipment, Quality Management System, and FSSC 22000 requirements.
- Knowledge of QA checks regarding finished products and in-process checks.
- Knowledge of safety aspects of QA labs and GMP requirements in a food processing industry.
- Hands-on experience handling GLP, GHP, GDP, cGMP, etc.
Accountability/Scope:
- Communication skills to understand and provide feedback or solutions within the QA team and to internal customers.
- Support in preparation of Opex & Capex budgets for in-process functions, making proposals, and following up on execution of new and existing projects.
- Preparation of SOPs and work instructions when new QMS requirements become effective. Conduct gap analysis of new QMS documents and take actions for their implementation.
- Ensure the laboratory operates with calibrated equipment and perform performance qualifications of the equipment as per the specified frequencies.
- Build and manage the IPT team to assure capability and stability. Recommend structure, roles, and responsibilities for the IPT lab.
- Recruit talent, behave as a role model for IPT staff, communicate site goals/metrics, set goals, coach, review performance, and support the functional head in building the function structure to achieve goals.
- Promote and support team development activities.
- Impart training to workmen and staff on GMP and QMS requirements.
- Conduct validations for new and existing equipment.
- Ensure product quality by carrying out timely and accurate analysis of finished products during shifts and providing timely feedback to production on quality trends.
- Perform analysis of intermediate products and in-process checks to ensure conformity to specified norms and provide timely information to concerned departments.
- Ensure accuracy of measurements by performing calibration of all equipment and measuring instruments in labs as per specified norms.
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety in the lab.
- Adhere to EHS guidelines, focus on a safe working environment, and comply with EHS audit citations related to quality.
- Responsible for collecting and managing retention samples as per AN policy.
- Conduct root cause analysis for deviations and troubleshoot with manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Achieve high levels of repeatability and reproducibility of in-process packaging results and actively participate in inter-laboratory error control.
- Ensure the laboratory operates with calibrated equipment and carry out performance qualifications as per specified frequencies.
