Admission for Ph.D. Programme of Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR) at CSIR-CFTRI – January 2025 Session

The focus of research & innovation in diverse disciplines of food science and technology, including Food Engineering (Process development and Equipment design, Biochemical Engineering, Downstream Processing, and Bioreactor design), etc., is very well supported by excellent infrastructure, state-of-the-art instrumental and pilot plant facilities, and advanced research training. CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, offers an excellent research & innovative environment for students who wish to pursue a full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences and Engineering under the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR).
CSIR-CFTRI under AcSIR invites applications from eligible candidates for full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences and Engineering for the January 2025 session.
A. Eligibility criteria for Ph.D. Science (Biological) and Ph.D. Science (Chemical):
Qualifying degree: Master’s degree in science with a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)/General-EWS and a minimum of 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender, and Persons with Disability (PwD).
Mode of entry:
- National-level fellowship: The applicant should have a valid National-level Fellowship (JRF/SRF of any funding agency, e.g., CSIR, ICMR, UGC, DBT, DST, etc.) or any other equivalent fellowship like DBT-BET, INSPIRE, RGNF, etc.
OR - Industry-sponsored candidates: Endorsement (NOC) from the current employer is mandatory.
B. Eligibility criteria for Ph.D. Engineering:
Qualifying degree: Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology (after a four-year engineering/technology degree or with an integrated 5-year B.Tech./M.Tech. degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)/General-EWS and a minimum of 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST, Third gender, and Persons with Disability (PwD).
Mode of entry:

Application fee: Rs. 1000 for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Selection:
Selection for admission to Ph.D. programmes of AcSIR at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, shall be based on Aptitude tests/Interviews (online or in person) of shortlisted Candidates to be held at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. Candidates are advised to visit the AcSIR website for dates of the interview. No TA & DA shall be paid to the shortlisted Candidates for attending the Aptitude tests/interviews at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru. Further, they should make their own arrangements for accommodation and food.
