Advertisement for Research Associate (RA) Position
Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for a Research Associate (RA) position in the research project “To Optimize Coal and Agro-Wastes Mixing and Feeding for Co-Milling for Thermal Power Plants with Minimum Changes to Installed Systems and Operations” funded by Department of Science & Technology, DST (Climate, Energy & Sustainable Technology Division), Government of India. Tenure of Project: 2 years
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work on the collection of coal, biomass, and mill operation data from NTPC power plants, dilute phase CFD simulation of coal and biomass feeding in the boiler, characterization of coal and biomass for CFD-DEM coupled simulation, and preparation of a design guidebook.
Essential Qualification:
- PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Energy/Physics/Material Science/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/Agriculture
or - ME/M.TECH in Mechanical/Chemical/Energy/Physics/Material Science/Mathematics/ Chemistry/Agriculture with 3 years of experience in research/teaching with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal
Desirable Experience: Candidates with experience of working on Ansys software during Ph.D. will be given preference. Also, experience in handling and characterizing coal and biomass in thermal power plants is desirable.
Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on the closing date of the application.
Fellowship: Rs 58,000 + 9% HRA Per Month (HRA is not applicable if accommodation is provided in the hostel)
