2024 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program

KAIST Advanced Institute for Science-X (KAI-X) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Summer KAI-X Research Internship Program. This program offers support to undergraduate (3rd/4th year) and master’s course graduate students seeking research experience at KAIST, Korea. Applicants interested in natural sciences, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Brain & Cognitive Science, and Medical Science, are encouraged to apply.

Research Internship

ELIGIBILITY

Only undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year and master’s students are eligible to apply. Students currently enrolled in a doctoral degree program are not eligible.

INTERNSHIP OUTLINE

  • Duration: June 24 ~ August 16 (8 weeks)
  • Location: Research Labs of KAIST Campus at Daejeon, KOREA
  • Activities: Opening ceremony, Campus tour, Final presentation, Result report submission, Banquet, Korean Culture trip (at least once)

SUPPORT

Permissible support includes actual expenses for round-trip airfare, with a maximum limit of 1 million KRW, and dormitory costs, not exceeding 500,000 KRW.

APPLICATION date & DEADLINE

Feb 1, 2024 ~ March 31, 2024 24:00 Seoul Time (UTC+9) Submit your application form, essay (activity plan), transcript, and reference letter to [email protected] within the specified period. Ensure the documentation is valid; otherwise, your application may be considered invalid.

Required Documents:

  1. Application form: Excel format
  2. Essay (Activity plan): Up to 1,200 words, explaining motivation, lab preferences, and plans
  3. Transcript: Official English documentation issued within the last 3 months
  4. Proof of Enrollment: Official English documentation issued within the last 3 months
  5. Reference letter: Adviser should email [email protected] before the application deadline, mentioning your correct name.

RESULT NOTIFICATION If selected, you will be assigned to one laboratory from your indicated preferences. Individual notifications regarding the selection outcome will be conveyed within four weeks after the application deadline.
