Eligibility:Â Ph.D. from a reputed institute in India or abroad
Desirable:
- Desirable to have Ph.D. in the field of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
- Experience in a drug discovery industry/ CRO in DMPK department.
- Good scientific knowledge about the basics of the pharmacokinetics and LC-MS/MS and HPLC based method validations.
- Good scientific knowledge about the pharmacokinetics and method validations
- Good handling of animals and sophisticated instruments. Understanding about data analysis and interpretation.
- Good attitude to work in a team and help other members in the team.
Experience:Â 2 to 4 years (post Ph.D.)
Skills:
- Good understanding of concepts of pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism with through knowledge of various principles of bioanalysis
- Understanding of the role of pharmacokinetics in small molecule drug discovery
- Good understanding DMPK data analysis and interpretation with ability to troubleshoot problems
Functional Skills:
- Expertise in administering compound via various routes in rodents (IV, PO, IP, SC, tropical, intravitreal etc.).
- Expertise in handling bioanalytical method development for various matrices (plasma, blood, various tissues, urine, faeces etc.)
- Ability to calculate PK parameters on excel spreadsheets
- Experience working in GLP and non-GLP setups
Accountabilities Scope of work:Â
ADME representative:Â
- Conduct PK and PK/PD analysis through early pre-clinical development, and collaborate in PK/PD and efficacy study designs
- Collaborate with safety assessment group (in need basis) on study design.
- Conduct the various in vitro ADME experiments for new chemical entities.
- Interact with other cross functional teams and contribute to the progression of the compounds in the project
- Collate the obtained results and prepare presentations for internal and external meetings
- Handling of various in vivo animal models employed in DMPK arena
- Handling of laboratory animals (mice, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters etc.)
- Conduct various in vivo ADME studies (IV and PO studies, excretion studies etc.)
- Contribute to the design of the critical path for various projects
- Prediction of human pharmacokinetic properties from in vitro and in vivo data
- Should be good at rodent cannulations (jugular, carotid, femoral) and conduct studies in these animals.
- LC-MS/MS and HPLC-UV/PDA method development and validation (partial and complete)
- Developing fit-for-purpose LC-MS/MS methods for routine in vitro and in vivo sample analysis
Mentorship:
- Guide juniors on the planning and execution of work and SOP writing
- Should make sure that team follows ethical guidelines towards assay validation, data analysis, recording experiments, updating the data and maintenance.
Lab Management:
- Method validations and analytical troubleshooting; Data generation, compilation, report preparation; Lab notebook, record keeping; SOP writing
- Prepare regular project updates and share with DMPK team management
- Conduct biomarker estimations in various matrices
- General LC-MS/MS and HPLC maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintaining apt documentation for both GLP and Non-GLP studies.
