Available Positions:
- Position: Intern
- The Paid Internship is available throughout the year based on the requirements of BIS Laboratory and the timelines for internship in selected institutions.
- Duration: Minimum one month to maximum six months.
Internship Overview:
- Interns will be given exposure to laboratory activities at BIS Laboratory and will also be required to carry out regular testing of various products received under different conformity assessment schemes.
- The scheme provides exposure to product testing, test methods and procedures, implementation of Laboratory Quality Management System, and operation of high-end testing equipment.
Stipend:
The Paid Internship provides:
- ₹15,000 per month for interns pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Science/Diploma Courses.
- ₹20,000 per month for interns pursuing Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology or Master’s degree or higher.
- The stipend is calculated on a pro-rata basis for each completed week.
Educational Requirements:
The scheme can be availed by eligible students enrolled in recognized Universities/Institutions within India and pursuing:
- Under graduation, having completed at least 4 semesters
- Post-Graduation, having completed at least 2 semesters
- Post Graduate Diploma
- Research Scholars
- Under Diploma Course
Degree/Diploma holders who completed their studies within the last 180 days are also eligible, subject to the conditions specified in the scheme.
Students pursuing Undergraduate/Post Graduate/Post Graduate Diploma Courses must have a minimum of 75% marks or CGPA of 7.5 out of 10 as on the last semester whose result has been declared. Research Scholars must have minimum First Division or CGPA of 7.5 out of 10 in Post-Graduation. Applicants must be Indian Nationals.
Chemistry Qualification:
- According to Appendix A, Chemistry is included among the eligible disciplines, with Master’s Degree in the discipline listed as the essential academic qualification for this category.
Key Responsibilities:
During the Paid Internship at BIS Laboratory, interns are expected to:
- Carry out regular testing of various products.
- Follow the methodology and instructions given by BIS.
- Adhere to the specified timeframe for their work.
- Maintain confidentiality of data and organizational information.
