Job Description
- Role: Panel Operator – Production
- Job ID: DG_JOB_1202
- Reporting To: Shift In-Charge – Production
- Purpose: Monitoring & controlling the Plant parameters & performance through DCS as per SOPs/ specifications or work instructions.
Responsibility:
- Continuously monitor process plant operating parameters against preassigned values as per SOP / manual and take necessary corrective action to avoid deviations.
- Review / Acknowledge various process alarms of plants during operation, take corrective action, and record (log) the same.
- Ensure timely samples are sent and monitor sample results, adjust process parameters as per analysis results.
- Take emergency shutdown promptly when required.
- Detect any abnormal performance of indicators/transmitters and get them corrected by engineering.
- Save products from contamination of any off-spec stream.
- Communicate with the technical team about plant bottlenecks.
- Communicate with the Shift In-Charge if any abnormalities occur.
- Startup / Shutdown as per operating procedures.
- Instruct and interact clearly with field operators for making necessary changes in the field and coordinate with the shift engineer, and for proper line-up and related safety aspects.
- Read processing schedules, operating logs, test results of samples, and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce the specified quantity and quality of product.
- Set controls to adjust process variables, such as flows, temperatures, and pressures.
Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech in Chemical / Petrochemical
Years of Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in the Chemical / Petrochemical industry
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of plant operation with a proper & detailed understanding of startup & shutdown procedures.
- Knowledge of DCS Operations, exhibiting fast and confident action during emergencies.
- Knowledge of Process performance parameters – Yield, Conversion, Specific consumption, DCS, Interlocks, Alarm Management system.
- Well-versed and skilled with safety & Firefighting guidelines and abiding by them.
