Education
- Bachelor’s degree in: Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Production preferred), OR B.Pharm / M.Pharm, OR B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Tech, Cosmetic Tech, Biotechnology.
- MBA (Operations/Marketing/Supply Chain) is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in: D2C brands (Beauty, Personal Care, FMCG).
- NPD / Project Management / Operations / Supply Chain roles.
- Exposure to vendor management & cross-functional coordination is a big plus.
About the Role
The Project Manager – NPD role at mCaffeine is designed for a dynamic professional who can lead end-to-end New Product Development across both mCaffeine and Hyphen brands. This position requires strong ownership, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to manage fast-paced D2C product cycles. As the Project Manager, you will drive timelines, collaborate with R&D, packaging, design, marketing, supply chain, QC, and finance teams, and ensure every product meets quality, cost, and launch expectations. Ideal for individuals with experience in NPD, vendor management, or those transitioning from Chemical Engineering Jobs into product development leadership, this role plays a crucial part in bringing innovative, market-ready products to life.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Timeline Management
- Own the complete NPD (New Product Development) timeline – from concept to launch.
- Create and manage detailed project plans, with defined milestones, risk assessments, and contingency actions.
- Ensure timely approvals, documentation, and cross-functional alignment.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead coordination between R&D, packaging, design, marketing, procurement, supply chain, QC, and finance teams.
- Conduct weekly project review meetings and share status updates with leadership.
- Proactively escalate bottlenecks and drive fast resolutions.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Coordinate with formulators, packaging suppliers, and other third-party manufacturers.
- Ensure vendors meet commitments on timelines, MOQs, compliance, and quality.
Documentation & Compliance
- Oversee creation and approval of artworks, BOMs, COAs, MSDS, regulatory documents, and trial reports.
- Ensure complete readiness for QA, QC, and regulatory requirements before production.
Production & Launch Execution
- Drive pilot batches, stability studies, and pre-production runs.
- Ensure seamless handover to the supply chain for mass production.
- Partner with marketing to ensure readiness for GTM assets, listings, and launch campaigns.
Cost, Quality & Efficiency Management
- Track project costs and ensure products are developed within target COGS.
- Optimize processes to improve speed-to-market and reduce rework.
Key Skills Required
- Strong project management and multi-stakeholder coordination skills.
- Knowledge of NPD cycles in beauty, personal care, or FMCG.
- Understanding of formulation basics, packaging development, and supply chain workflows.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
