Advertisement for JRF in a SERB (DST) sponsored project (CRG/2022/002417)

Applications are invited for the post of Project Fellow/ JRF in the SERB-sponsored project titled “Studies on stochastic micro-engines in complex fluids”, at the Light Matter Lab, Department of Physical Sciences, IISER Kolkata. This project involves in-depth theoretical concepts in classical non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and rigorous experimental work with optical tweezers, including day-to-day use of optical microscopes, lasers, and associated optical equipment/devices, as well as biological/chemical sample preparation, etc. For more details about the physics behind the project, please check here.

Job Details

  • Position: JRF
  • Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA
  • Duration: Till the completion of the project on May 31, 2026.

Eligibility:

  • At least 55% in MSc in Physics/Chemistry, with qualification in a national level eligibility test (CSIR NET JRF, GATE, JEST, JAM).
  • MTech in a professional course with qualification in a national level eligibility test as described above.
  • Candidates with prior experience in an optics research lab would be preferred.
