Chemistry Job at Sika- Role Overview:

The R&D Executive/Chemist will develop and test new formulations for adhesives and sealants, monitor pilot trial batches, and support the creation of new test methods, quality criteria, and manufacturing instructions. This hands-on role ensures innovative products meet technical specifications and benchmarked standards.

Chemistry Job at Sika- Key Responsibilities:

  • Run and optimize new formulations in the lab based on local requirements for adhesives and sealants.
  • Document test results professionally in detailed reports.
  • Set up and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze material properties, including weatherability, chemical resistance, and compatibility.
  • Assist in scaling up formulations from laboratory to production level.
  • Place orders with internal and external test centers as required.
  • Identify product irregularities and communicate issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior technical and R&D colleagues to ensure project follow-up.

R&D Executive Role- Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Polymers, or related Sciences.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in R&D, application testing, technical service, or customer support in specialty chemicals, adhesives, or sealants (preferably Polyurethane, SMP, Epoxy, or Acrylics).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience in lab formulation development and testing.
  • Strong collaboration and teamworking skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, DOE, and methodical documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
