Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
Experience:
- Experience in R&D, failure analysis, or reliability engineering for electrochemical systems such as batteries, fuel cells, or electrolysers.
- Proficiency in electrochemical testing and failure analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of electrochemical processes and materials science.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on lab experience.
- Familiarity with tools like potentiostats, EIS, ICP-MS, and SEM imaging.
Job Description:
The R&D Engineer – Failure Mode Analysis will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving failure mechanisms in electrochemical systems, including energy storage devices, hydrogen production units, and fuel cells. The role aims to enhance performance, reliability, and lifespan through research, testing, and collaborative innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct failure mode analysis to identify and document failures in electrochemical systems such as alkaline water electrolysers (AWE).
- Analyze data to detect patterns and trends in failures.
- Design and perform experiments simulating extreme conditions like temperature, pressure, current, and voltage.
- Collaborate with materials scientists to address material-related failures and recommend solutions.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations on findings and improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments and methodologies.
- Troubleshoot issues related to coating processes and materials.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement failure prevention strategies.
