Job Details

  • Job Post: Project Associate – I (Gasification Experiments at the Indian Institute of Science)
  • Duration: One year (extendable based on performance and funding)
  • Location:
    Centre for Sustainable Technology & Department of Materials Engineering, IISc, Bengaluru, India
  • Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemical, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Environmental, Energy Science, or related fields.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating fixed-bed gasifiers.
  • Strong experimental and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of multiphase flows and ASPEN Plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaborative attitude.

Desirable Skills

  • Prior experience with gasifier experiments and physical modelling.
  • Understanding of techno-economics and environmental challenges.
  • Experience in reactor design, emission control strategies, and pilot-scale setups.
  • Academic inclination with eagerness to publish research findings.

Job Description

  • Conduct experiments on a laboratory-based fixed-bed gasifier using biomass under various conditions.
  • Collect and analyze data, preparing reports based on results.
  • Interact with industry partners and potentially perform experiments in industrial settings.
  • Collaborate with researchers to execute experiments and support related project activities.

Salary & Benefits

  • Consolidated salary: INR 65,000 – 80,000 per month
  • Initial appointment: 1 year (extendable based on performance and funding availability)
  • Collaborative environment with national and international researchers.
