Core Purpose of the Role:
As a Research Associate at Syngene, you will be responsible for conducting synthetic chemistry reactions and delivering final compounds within a fast turnaround time. The role demands independent problem-solving skills in chemistry, meticulous documentation, and adherence to Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) policies.
Role Accountabilities:
- Perform synthetic chemistry reactions, reaction workups, and purification of compounds using column chromatography, crystallization, re-crystallization techniques, preparative TLC, and other lab equipment.
- Ensure samples generated during synthesis are analyzed, results are recorded, and updates are shared with the supervisor or group leader. Prepare and pack samples for shipment.
- Record experimental observations, reaction results, resource utilization, and other related activities in the laboratory or e-notebook promptly, ensuring safety and confidentiality.
- Meet Syngene’s productivity expectations in terms of the number of compounds and steps per month without compromising safety or quality.
- Synthesize final compounds efficiently, demonstrating strong analytical interpretation and purification skills.
- Be familiar with the SDS of chemicals handled and emergency procedures for spills, leaks, or fires. Follow waste segregation as per EHS norms.
- Adhere strictly to EHS and quality system requirements, ensuring personal and laboratory safety.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and keep training records updated.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
